Hydrophobic food packaging

We've all seen those dishwasher tabs that are enclosed in a clear, slightly sticky see-thru plastic which dissolves upon contact with water in the dishwasher. Why not apply the same principle to food packaging?

Take ramen packaging: With the whole thing (ramen and spices) enclosed in hydrophobic packaging, you could throw it in boiling water, hey presto, 5 mins later the packaging and the little sachet holding the spices have dissolved. Easier to manufacture, less environmental impact, AND it's quicker and easier to cook!

Bonus points for inventing flavored packaging, so you end up with even less packaging materials.

Patents pending.

I just realized, it's not hydrophobic when water dissolves things, HP is when water rolls off the material. DOH!

M&S Swiss chocolate trays are made from a corn starch based material which dissolves in water. Doing it with something you cook it a great next step!
